Berikut ini adalah rumus dan contoh passive voice dalam bentuk 16 tenses yang bisa dijadikan sebagai acuan:
1. Simple present tense: S + to be (am, are, is) + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The motorcycle is ridden by my father everyday.
(Sepeda motor itu dikendarai oleh ayahku setiap hari)
2.Present continuous tense: S + to be (am, are, is) + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The juice is being drunk by Inas.
(Jus itu sedang diminum oleh Inas)
3. Present perfect tense: S + have/has + been + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Ramen has been cooked by my girlfriend. (Ramen telah dimasak oleh kekasihku)
4. Present perfect continuous tense: S + have/has + been + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Titanic movie has been being watched by many romantic addict. (Film Titanic telah ditonton oleh banyak pecandu romantis)
5. Simple past tense: S + to be (was/were) + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The cheese was stolen by a mouse in the kitchen yesterday. (Keju itu dicuri oleh tikus di dapur kemarin)
