Thank you.
Distinguished guests, fellow students, and future leaders,
It is a great honor to stand before you on this special occasion as we celebrate Sumpah Pemuda. Today, we are reminded of the courage, vision, and unity displayed by the youth of Indonesia in 1928. Their commitment to one nation, one people, and one language laid the foundation for our independence and national identity.
However, the true power of the Youth Pledge lies not only in its historical significance but in its timeless message: the power of young people to shape the future. The youth of today have a vital role in determining the path of our nation.
As young Indonesians, we must recognize that our generation holds the keys to addressing some of the most pressing issues we face—whether it’s economic inequality, climate change, or educational reform.
But to lead this charge, we must first empower ourselves. We must equip ourselves with knowledge, skills, and a deep sense of responsibility to our community and country. It is through education that we can unlock our full potential. Furthermore, we must cultivate a mindset of innovation and creativity, qualities that will allow us to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The Youth Pledge also reminds us that we cannot achieve success alone. Collaboration is key. Just as the youth of 1928 came together from different backgrounds, so must we. In this era of globalization, teamwork and collaboration are more critical than ever. By supporting one another, sharing ideas, and working together, we can drive progress and build a better Indonesia.
